• SAN FRANCISCO STATE UNIVERSITY, College of Creative Arts. 2007 - present.
  I teach Poetry, Fiction, Flash Fiction, and Memoir Workshops, using techniques of poetry and fiction in the creation of personal narratives. I also teach Language of the Soul, a cross-genre workshop that uses poetry, fiction and memoir to communicate with the writer’s inner wisdom.
• DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY, 2010 - present.
  I teach Poetry and Memoir Workshops, using techniques of poetry and fiction in the creation of personal narratives.
• DIRECTOR, ON-LINE POETRY WORKSHOP, CHIEF EDITOR, BLUE LIGHT PRESS. 1991 - present.
  I lead an on-line poetry workshop at the graduate level in eight week sessions. Each workshop has a theme, and helps each writer take a significant step in their skill as a poet and the understanding of what makes a contemporary poem work. Blue Light Press is known for poetry that is imagistic, emotionally honest, and pushes through the imagery to a deeper level of insight. I also direct the San Francisco Summer Writing Workshop.
• POET IN THE SCHOOL, Middle School and K-8 Programs. 2004 - 2018.
  I lead a poetry workshop for 7 to 12-year-old poets at Brandeis Hillel Day School in San Francisco and middle school students in the Gate Program at Crittenden Middle School in Mountain View. With both groups, I publish a chapbook of their writing.
• DEPARTMENT OF PROFESSIONAL WRITING, Maharishi University of Management, Fairfield, Iowa. Associate Professor, 1985 to 2002. MUM is a small experimental university that blends Eastern and Western philosophy. I taught Poetry Writing, Advanced Poetry Writing, Creative Non-Fiction, Scriptwriting for Multi-Image and Video Production, and Book Writing and Marketing to graduate and undergraduate students in the Professional Writing Program.
• CITY COLLEGE OF SAN FRANCISCO. English Department. 1985 to 1988.
  I taught basic English and writing courses to freshman and sophomores at City College and worked in the Writing Lab. My students were mainly immigrants, refugees, and educationally disadvantaged students from inner city schools.
• SAN FRANCISCO STATE UNIVERSITY. Department of Educational Technology. 1985-1988.
  I taught “Scriptwriting for Multi-Image and Video Production” to graduate students.
• VISTA VOLUNTEER: Middle School Teacher. I taught Creative Writing and Mathematics in Los Angeles.
